Wyclef Jean shares “Mr. October” ft G Herbo from upcoming album ‘Clef Notes’

Wyclef Jean has announced an ambitious seven-album, genre-spanning project called Quantum Leap. Each album has seven tracks, each focusing on a different genre, including hip-hop, jazz, country, reggae, R&G, gospel, and more. They’re all set to be released across the next year.

The first of those is Clef Notes, and while full details haven’t been announced, the first single, the mellow, jazzy “Mr. October,” is out now and features G Herbo. “G Herbo represents the voice of a generation,” Wyclef says.

“We’re living in an era where we must amplify reform over violence and believe in the possibility of a better future for underserved communities.” G Herbo adds, “Working with Wyclef who I call ‘Unc’ now inspired me to focus on delivery. I can’t just get on a song with him and not focus on bars and punch lines.

It’s always been a dream of mine to work with him, and now we’re on song number two, so I must be doing something right.” Listen to “Mr. October” below.

Wyclef has a few festival dates this summer, including LA’s Blue Note Jazz Festival, and he’ll perform a free show at Flushing Meadows Park during the World Cup on June 15.
